Postcards to Pruitt
2018
Graphite, gouache & gesso on recycled postcards
6” x 4.25”
Fifteen postcards mailed to the director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt over a period of two weeks while participating in the Artist Residency at Fire Island National Seashore. Every day I was in residence I wrote and illustrated a one-of-a-kind postcard to Scott Pruitt, then director of the EPA. The post cards were visually inspired by the landscape I was exploring at the National Seashore. The text side expressed my concern with specific laws and actions being taken by the EPA. The post cards were part of both a daily drawing practice and my formal complaints as a constituent to the previous administration's shortsightedness concerning the environment.
