Halls Island I (June 26, 2024)
2024
Gouache & Colored Pencil
4.5” x 6.5”

In Summer 2024 I participated in the Halls Island Artist Residency in Haliburton Highlands, Ontario.  Halls Island is a family-owned, off-grid artist residency located on Koshlong Lake, in the Lake Ontario Watershed. It is ideal for quiet reflection and immersion in the natural world. While in residence I used my time there as a regenerative reset at the start of my year-long sabbatical from teaching. Inspired by previous daily drawing projects I completed one postcard-sized drawing a day in response to my explorations of the small island. Please check out the website or get in touch if you have any questions about the residency!
